Dr. Karine Shaghoyan is a dedicated and accomplished optometrist with over a decade of clinical experience. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Davie, Florida, in 2012, and her Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Cum Laude, from California State University, Northridge.
She welcomes new patients and provides comprehensive eye care, including routine eye exams, glasses and contact lens fittings, myopia control, keratoconus management, and LASIK co-management.
Dr. Shaghoyan’s clinical experience includes work at Laser Eye Center and Milauskas Eye Institute. During her training, she completed internships at Kids in Distress Clinic, an advanced care clinic specializing in macular disease and diabetes, and the Contact Lens and Cornea Clinic at the Indian Health Care Center in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
She has been recognized for her academic and clinical excellence, receiving Clinic Honors at IHS Ardmore and being named to the Dean’s Honor List at CSU Northridge. She also served as a Clinical Research Intern with Refocus Group, Inc., studying presbyopia treatment options, and co-authored a scientific poster on ultraviolet radiation and polarization education presented at Florida International University.
Dr. Shaghoyan is deeply committed to giving back to her community. She volunteers locally with the Power of Sight Foundation and VSP Eyes of Hope, and has participated in the REACH Rural Community Health Fair and NSU Back-to-School Vision Screenings.
She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, Sigma Alpha Pi, and the Golden Key Honor Society.
Her team is proud to serve a diverse community, with staff fluent in English, Spanish, Armenian, and Russian.
Outside of the office, Dr. Shaghoyan enjoys traveling and practicing yoga, experiences that reflect her belief in balance, wellness, and delivering thoughtful, personalized care to every patient.
